- 1. I do not live in Europe. Can I join?
Of course, Motoride.eu is a motorcycle club that thrives on international membership. Our goal is to gather dedicated riders from all over the world, developing multi-cultural relationships and friendships that will continue way beyond the ride! This is a unique chance for international riders to experience the best roads of southern Europe.
- 2. Is the route tough?
We certainly are riding long distances with many hours a day on primarily mountain roads, but you will ride at your own pace as opposed to feeling obliged to catch-up with the leading members. Rest assured, you’ll never get lost and you’ll be riding through gorgeous scenery and landscapes. Get some practice, plan accordingly and you’ll be just fine.
- 3. What’s the estimated cost of a Motoride.eu ride?
The exact cost of each trip is specific to the itinerary. The information package you will receive before the trip will detail the road-books, the mileage, the hotels and the associated budget including fuel and accommodations. Please contact us if you want more information.
- 4. Can I join a ride using my own motorcycle?
Yes, but you will be responsible for the freight, logistics and cost of transporting your bike to the ride location and back. Bear in mind that the riding pace and the roads we ride on are best suited for lighter, more agile motorcycles rather than choppers! Vintage motorcycles are welcome, but reliability can also be an issue, so make sure you have the backup support you need. If you want to bring your own bike, let’s talk about it and make sure this is the best option for you.
- 5. What kind of motorcycles can I rent?
We work with a selection of rental agencies offering quality bikes and you will be able to choose between BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson and Triumph.
I’d like to ride with my partner as a passenger? Passengers are welcome, but please consider that long days on twisty mountain roads may turn this duo experience into a less than comfortable/enjoyable experience.
- 6. Can Motoride.eu organise a custom trip for a private group?
Of course, we will work with you and your group to help you create a road trip tailored to your preferences, providing it is within the regions we know best: Provence, the French Riviera, Corsica Island, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
- 7. Is there anything else I should know when considering a bike trip?
When you start planning your trip to Europe, please refer to the travel information provided here http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/index_en.htm.
Carry an international driver’s licence as well as your state licence. Travel insurance is a must (check what’s provided with your credit card(s) and other specific coverage). Verify that your smartphone is unlocked or if you can roam. Even better, use a local Pay As You Go SimCard.
